How To Pack Your Cardboard Boxes For An Easy Move
You’re about to move and you’re getting ready to pack your things in tons cardboard boxes. Unless you’re in an absolute hurry, it’s best to start planning for your move early. Planning? Yes, planning before packing is just as important as the act of packing itself. Now, a lot of people think that there’s not much to packing. They believe that just simply stuffing the cardboard boxes and sealing them up, then tossing them on to the truck is all that’s necessary. If you’ve moved before, you know that it is not that easy, especially if you’re packing things at random.
So, how can you Make Your moving transition a lot smoother and less of a challenge? You plan it first. Here’s a check list to go down to help;
1. Write a list of each room you have and approximate how many cardboard boxes or containers you’ll need. With most families, the kitchen and bathrooms are the ones that usually need a lot of smaller cardboard boxes, while rooms such as the bedroom and living room need larger moving boxes.
2. Gather all necessary packing tools, such as permanent markers, cardboard boxes, plastic containers, high lighters, notebook paper, masking tape, scotch tape, packing tape, bubble wrap, etc.
3. Pack by each room individually. You can either start off with the smallest room, or the easiest room. As you pack, note down the items that you are packing into the box on a separate sheet of paper. Be sure to write a numbered list (example 1, 2, 3,etc.) so that once you go back to this box, you’ll have an idea of what’s in it. You don’t have to write down every single item, but a general label such as “kitchen drawer” or “bathroom cabinet” or “cleaning supplies” should do the job. If there are special things of importance, then you may want to list those on that paper too.
4. After you’re done packing each cardboard moving box, seal the box closed with the moving tape and then tape your list on the side or wherever it can easily be seen.
5. Color code each room’s boxes for maximum efficiency. There are many varieties of permanent colored markers you can buy and then color code your moving boxes by marking the corners of each box with a specific color. For example, you can make the kitchen red, bedroom blue, bathroom green, and so forth.
6. If you’re using a moving company to help you pack, then pack your valuables yourself, especially if they are family heirlooms. Things happen, and even the best of packers will have an accident at some point. Do you want to risk breaking your grandmother’s favorite vase by some strangers? Then, you’d be better off packing it yourself with love and care. Be sure to use bubble wrap or thick cloths to wrap fragile items in.
7. Organize and get rid of things you don’t need. Moving is not just a time of packing up, but also letting go of things that have collected dust for years. How about that exercise bike that’s been collecting dust in the attic? Sure, you plan on losing weight and getting in tip top shape, but are you really honest with yourself about that bike? Could you donate it to Goodwill, so that someone else may be able to get better use of it? Try to be honest with yourself, because you’re going to have to pack and move all those things that have been collecting dust. Is it worth the trouble? Only you know, but it’s often a good time to see what you can donate to a good cause.
8. If you’re not using a moving company to help you load your items, then you’ll want to load up the big furniture, like couches and beds in first.
9. Start as early as possible so that you won’t be stressed and rushed.
Hopefully, these tips will help you when you’re packing all your items in cardboard moving boxes. Moving doesn’t have to be a nightmare. It can be a challenge, but with effective planning and organized effort, put into packing your moving boxes , you can make your move a success.

Third $7.93 Portishead’s Third has been a long time coming, the result of a lengthy creative torpor following 1997′s dark, distinctly underrated album Portishead. Importantly, though, they’ve shaken it. While the core trio of Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow, and Adrian Utley remains, this is quite a different band to Portishead’s 90s incarnation: gone is the slo-mo turntable scratching and smoky jazz feel, replace… |

Acoustic $11.77 John Lennon was celebrated for the ornate and avant-garde adornments he brought to the Beatles, but he also at times responded to a powerful impulse to strip his music to its raw essence. Indeed, Lennon would have flourished in the unplugged era, when the nakedness of his best lyrics and the cutting directness of his astonishing voice would have been in the fore. Since John never got around to doi… |
